About The Finchams
Our small real estate office is located in downtown Magnetawan in the heart of Ontario cottage country. We both grew up in the Muskoka Parry Sound area, so we know it well, we have raised our families here and although we both love to travel it’s always great to come home to Magnetawan.
Ours is a very laid back real estate office. Our children, grandchildren, and pets are welcome and are often under foot! When you come in chances are you will be greeted by Bonnie’s dog, Niblitz, a little Shorkie-poo or perhaps her daughter’s lively Australian Shepherd, Fawkes. Everyone pitches in so don’t be surprised to find one of our kids behind a desk or answering the phone. If you’re looking for aggressive, high pressure Realtors don’t choose us. It’s just not our style.
The areas we service go from the Gravenhurst region in the south to South River in the north and west to Parry Sound. We cover all aspects of real estate including homes, cottages and commercial property with a special focus on waterfront properties. There’s a huge number of lakes and rivers in our area, each one with their pros and cons so don’t hesitate to contact us. Water quality, environmental protection, boat traffic and building restrictions are must-know things to look at before buying any waterfront. The more informed you are the better decisions you can make.
If you’re searching for real estate in the Muskoka and Parry Sound areas and have questions just give us a call, we would be happy to help.

Your local Muskoka & Parry Sound real estate brokers.
Although I was born and raised in the town of Parry Sound, I spent the first 18 years of my adult life living and working in Barrie. I returned to my hometown in 2005 to be closer to my parents as they get on in years. Throughout my childhood I was blessed to spend my summers on Georgian Bay, at our cottage near Sans Souci.
I started to work with Jim Marshall in July of 2006 as an unlicensed assistant and immediately discovered an instinctive understanding of the real estate business. As I worked in the background helping to grow Jim’s business to where it is today, it started to become apparent that he needed someone licensed to help take care of the number of buyers we were servicing. The logical step was for me to get my real estate license, a process which I completed in March of 2008. I continued to work with Jim as part of the Marshall Team for the next few years. In May 2011, John Fincham and I opened the Magnetawan Branch office of Re/Max Parry Sound-Muskoka Reality Ltd, and I haven’t looked back.
I have been blessed with amazing clients, now friends, and am enjoying the success of hard work! I spend a lot of time driving around the beautiful Muskoka and Parry Sound area with my trusty sidekick, Niblitz, my wee Shorkie-poo.
I currently sit as a Director on The Lakelands Real Estate Board, as well as serving three terms as a Director on the Parry Sound Real Estate Board in the past.
When not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my children, and grandchildren and I am currently very busy building my new home. My other interests include gardening, reading, knitting, hiking and kayaking. I love to travel, cook, play board games and I enjoy a nice glass of wine!
John Fincham – Broker
I count myself extremely fortunate to have lived in cottage country almost all of my life, growing up on Horn Lake just outside Burk’s Falls. My Mom and Dad, who still live there, planted the seeds at an early age that gave me a lasting love of everything outdoors. My summers were spent exploring the bush, paddling my small cedar strip canoe and fishing. Winters found me cross country skiing, snowshoeing and running my team of Alaskan malamutes. My range of exploration widened with countless adventures throughout the region and beyond.
Those trips around lakes and down rivers would turn out to be invaluable for real estate later in life. Sue and I continue adventuring paddling, hiking and exploring in our VW Westy with our 2 golden retrievers Tilley and Ollie.
As my knowledge of the Muskoka/Parry Sound region has grown so has my personal involvement in the community which, combined with business experience, has given me insight into the intricacies of northern real estate.
